About Teeny's Friends

We provide toys for needy dogs! At Teeny's Friends our goal is to make sure that no dog ever has to go without the simple pleasure of chasing a ball or snuggling a plushie. Our mission was inspired by Teeny, my own rescue dog & our mascot. We raise toys through monthly toy drives & the sale of our One For One toy (when you buy one, we donate one). The toys we raise are then donated to rescue groups, animal shelters, and families in low income neighborhoods. Read on to learn how you can help us help needy dogs!

Purchase Your Own Official Teeny's Friends One-For-One Toy!

Each is only $4.99 and when you buy one, we donate one to a needy dog! Buy your own via PayPal in the right-hand column below. Buy for yourself, as a gift, or as a donation for your favorite animal organization!

Toy Drive Update & Valentine's Day Card

I cannot believe the fantastic response we are getting for our Feb toy drive benefitting the pets of Haiti! The pic below with the stack of boxes is all of the toys that YOU GUYS have sent in! Five boxes tall! (Look at how small the stack makes Teeny look!) The second picture (the box with the giraffe on top) is another box of toys we received this week. We ship off the lot on 3/1 and we think it's going to make a lot of animals really happy! Everyone has been sending really nice toys, too! Last, but certainly not least, we received a Valentine's Day card this week and thought it was too cute not to show everyone. One of our best Twitter buds, @SidTheCatahoula, sent it to us. Thank you so much to Sid and his human Lisa- you guys are the best!

Our Costume for Today's Paw Pawty!

Today's Paw Pawty was a great success! I posted a picture on the left of our "costume." We were so excited to get the chance to DJ and help raise money & awareness for a great cause. The benefiting organization was The Pet Samaritan Fund. They are a nonprofit organization established in 1991, aids needy animals mainly on the Wasatch Front and Utah Basin. They are not operated or funded by any national humane groups or government agencies and must rely on adoptions fees and contributions.
Every penny they raise goes to caring for their animals.
They provide:
•Shelter and medical care for animals taken into their foster program until permanent homes can be found. Most of their animals are from municipal shelters.
•Assistance to spay and neuter animals for low-income families in the local area.

We had a blast playing DJ. The theme of the paw pawty was "anipal Olympics" so the play list I chose was composed from songs from the iPod play lists of US Olympians. I posted my play list below (with the Olympian & their sport in parenthesis) in case anyone is interested!

2-21 Anipal Olympics Paw Pawty Play List
1. Lupe Fiasco - Superstar (Kaitlin Sandeno, swimmer)
2. ACDC - Highway to Hell (Natalie Golda, water polo)
3. Ferras - Soul Rock (Shaun Johnson, gymnast)
4. Bruce Springsteen - I'm on Fire (Abby Wambach, soccer)
5. Christina Aguilera - Fighter (Becca Ward, fencing)
6. Jay-Z - What More Can I Say (Candace Parker, basketball)
7. Los Lobos - Marcarena (just for fun!)
8. All American Rejects - Move Along (Kara Goucher, runner)
9. Chris Brown - Forever (Shannon Box, soccer)
10. MGMT - Kids (Kim Vandenberg, swimmer)
11. Survivor - Eye of the Tiger (Sarah Haskins, triathalon)

Donated Toys From DogTipper.com!

I came home yesterday to two boxes sitting on my doorstep. Yay! They were from our friends at the website DogTipper.com (based out of my own Austin - woohoo!) who has been helping us with the February national toy drive benefitting the animals of Haiti. The boxes were stuffed full of goodies, and I got some cute pics of our dogs checking everything out- as well as a pic of the cute card they sent! These boxes will be added to the ever-growing stack in my closet; at the end of the month I will condense everything and ship it off! Until then, thank you so much to Dog Tipper, and everyone else- keep on sending in those toys! :)

DJing At This Weekends Paw Pawty!

We are so excited about the opportunity to DJ at this weekends Paw Pawty! Our slot is from 11 am to 12 pm CST and the theme is "Animal Olympics!"

If you are unfamiliar with the concept of the paw pawty, then you are in for a treat! The paw pawty is a virtual party, held once a month, to raise awareness and money for various animal-related charities. The entire thing takes place in the "Twitterverse" by using the hash tag #pawpawty somewhere in your Tweet. There are DJs (such as myself), bark tenders (haha!), security, pawparazzi, quizmasters, prizes & more! Many animals change their avatar (using sites such as blingee.com or faceinhole.com) to something cute & funny as their "costume" for the paw pawty. I posted mine above; Teeny is an olympic skiier in keeping with the animal olympics theme!

If you are on Twitter, we hope you will come visit with us during our DJ slot and join the fun!

More Toys In For Our February Toy Drive!

We are so grateful for the wonderful response we have had to our February toy drive benefiting the displaced animals of Haiti. These toys came from our wonderful friends, Dani & her pooch Bella, who run the site Positive Present. It is always a treat when I get a chance to talk about them on this site; Dani is an incredible person and I am so fortunate to have become friends with her on Twitter. This is not the first time she & Bella have generously donated toys! We were also excited about the opportunity to do a guest post on her website this past December. They have come through for us again, donating a big box of toys to the animals of Haiti- your kindness will make so many of their little lives so much better! Thank you so much, Dani and Bella- we appreciate you (in more ways than one) than you will ever know!

New Twitter / Facebook Profile Photo

I just wanted to share our new Twitter / Facebook profile photo with everyone! We added the border and text on the site http://www.photobucket.com/ and we are so happy with how it turned out!

February Toy Drive Is Rockin & Rollin!

It's only the 2nd day of our February toy drive and we already got a box of toys in! Thank you to Jeff & Greer Hawley and their pooch Lucy. (Especially loved the adorable card!) We truly appreciate you guys going out of your way to mail us toys; we know the post office can be a pain! This is the first drive we've ever had where we are depending on people to mail in toys, and we are really kicking things off with a bang. Keep checking back for more updates and photos of the donated toys; the animals of Haiti are going to be very happy!
