About Teeny's Friends

We provide toys for needy dogs! At Teeny's Friends our goal is to make sure that no dog ever has to go without the simple pleasure of chasing a ball or snuggling a plushie. Our mission was inspired by Teeny, my own rescue dog & our mascot. We raise toys through monthly toy drives & the sale of our One For One toy (when you buy one, we donate one). The toys we raise are then donated to rescue groups, animal shelters, and families in low income neighborhoods. Read on to learn how you can help us help needy dogs!

Purchase Your Own Official Teeny's Friends One-For-One Toy!

Each is only $4.99 and when you buy one, we donate one to a needy dog! Buy your own via PayPal in the right-hand column below. Buy for yourself, as a gift, or as a donation for your favorite animal organization!

September Toy Drive Going On Now!

As of Saturday A.M. our September toy drive is officially up & running! We dropped our bins off at Just For Pets around noon. We also picked up some cannolis from their bakery case [raved about in a previous post] for Todd's parents dogs, which I am told they LOVED! So if you find yourself on Far West, please stop by Just For Pets and donate a toy to our cause! Toys from this drive will go to benefit the local rescue group Lucky Mutts. They do some great things, so we are excited about the chance to support their organization!

September Toy Drive at Just For Pets

I am excited to let everyone know that September's toy drive will be held at Just For Pets (click here for a map). I recently visited this store for the first time and was blown away by how much cute stuff they had in one small place. They are moving to a larger location soon, just down the street from their current location. Their dog treat bakery case made my mouth water! I bought Teeny & Tootsie some "bonewiches" which are basically doggie bone-shaped oreo sandwich cookies, topped with brightly colored icing and sprinkles (similar to the picture above). Long story short, they might both have to enter a 12-step program, because they went nuts over these cookies! It's a great store, and if you live in the Austin area and are a pet owner, I highly recommend visiting them. If you aren't in the Austin area, their website is http://www.justforpetsaustin.com/.
Our bins will be at Just For Pets the morning of Saturday, August 29th until the morning of Saturday, September 12th. So stop by, donate a dog toy, and pick your pooch up a bonewich! I promise he or she will love you forever for it!

~Katy

P.S. I forgot to mention that the owners are still trying to decide what animal organization they would like the toys to benefit- I will update everyone on their decision on Saturday when I drop the bins off!

We Got A Little Face Lift!

As you can probably tell, the Teeny's Friends blog got a non-surgical yet tasteful face lift over the last few days. I am really happy with the new design (thanks to http://www.pyzam.com for the template!) and I hope our viewers are as well. If you have any feedback, please feel free to leave it in the comments or email me at katysknox@yahoo.com. Also, if you happen to discover any broken links, I would appreciate you letting me know about those as well. It might take a few days to get it back in perfect (hah!) working order, so please be patient!

Have a great day!

September Toy Drive In The Works!

I am a little late on getting September's toy drive set up this month! You'll all have to forgive me and trust me when I say I have a good excuse. There are some very exciting things in the works for Teeny's Friends that I can't wait to tell you all about when the time is right.
We are currently in talks with a great Austin pet store,
Just For Pets, to host September's toy drive. I didn't give them much notice, but am hopeful that we can work something out!
I will let everyone know as soon as I hear something, so stay tuned!

Talk to you soon,

~ Katy

Donated Toy Pics From Teeny's "Birthday" Party

The hubby & I finally drug the huge box of donated toys from Teeny's 5th Birthday Party & Dog Toy Drive out of the back of my car and up the stairs so that we could begin to go through it tonight. Lemme tell ya, a lot of dogs are going to hit the motherload once we make our donation!

One great thing about our friends is that they always give 100% when we ask for it. This party was no different; our dogs were drooling over every single toy in the box, because they all looked like so much fun. You could tell everyone really put thought into the toys they bought. I am just sorry I won't be able to see how happy the dogs are when they receive them! I took some pictures as we were going through the box and posted them below. If you didn't get to see pics from the party, click here to do so.

Teeny With The Loot From August's Toy Drive

This afternoon I picked up the toys from August's toy drive at Spicewood Springs Animal Clinic. I was supposed to pick them up Saturday, but I showed up at 3 only to find out they close at 1! Oops! Everyone there was so nice and accomodating, I love that our own personal vet was willing to help us out by letting us have August's toy drive there! That really makes me feel good about the level of care our precious poochies get when in their hands.

The toys are going to benefit rescue groups of the host's choosing. Below is a pic of the loot and our ever patient namesake!

Enjoy,

~Katy

Goodie Bags For Party Donated By Lofty Dog!

I am so excited about this! Lofty Dog, a fabulous dog boutique in downtown Austin, Texas, has very generously offered to donate goodie bag for all of our doggie guests at the Teeny's birthday party on Sunday! More importantly, they are also going to be donating toys to our cause, which will in turn be donated to needy dogs all over the city. A million thanks to Lofty Dog!

If you are in Austin, Texas, do yourself a favor and go check out Lofty Dog! It is located at 403 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and their phone number is (512) 476-5050. Their website is http://www.austinloftydog.com/. They have great stuff AND they care about dogs less fortunate and do something to help- is there a better combination?
